Cheryl J. Colbert (January 23, 1955 - March 29, 2016), was a dedicated wife, mother, and educator. Mrs. Colbert attended the University of Arkansas where she earned a BSE in Elementary Education and Special Education in 1977. After graduating from the U of A, she began teaching at Butterfield Elementary in Fayetteville, Arkansas where she spent eight years teaching 2nd and 3rd grade and an additional 2 years teaching in Fort Smith, Arkansas at Morrison Elementary. She also worked at the Donald W. Reynolds Boys and Girls Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas for twenty-four years.
Mrs. Colbert spent her life being the embodiment of the importance of continued education. She devoted much of her time researching history, creating family history books, and writing educational short stories.
As a dedication to her memory and lifelong dream of providing education for all, the Cheryl J. Colbert Foundation was implemented to help all those who seek their betterment through education. The Cheryl J. Colbert Foundation seeks to aide individuals in finding and providing educational and financial resources.
